Terranos processes personal data to operate the mobile app, web app, messaging, logistics, transport coordination, and related community features.

1. Who we are

Terranos is a community app for discovering, organizing, joining, and coordinating outdoor activities, logistics, and participant communication.

This policy explains what personal data we process across the mobile app, web app, and related services, why we process it, and what choices and controls you have.

2. What data we collect

We may process:

  • account and identity data such as email address, first name, last name, account role, profile image, and linked sign-in provider identifiers
  • profile data such as birth date, phone and WhatsApp visibility settings, home town or selected location, social links, professional role details, language, theme, and emergency contacts
  • activity and participation data such as activities you create or join, participation state, approval decisions, route and timing, route difficulty, equipment, accommodation, shared-cost logistics, comments, direct messages, and activity-related metadata
  • transport, media, and optional location data such as vehicle details, transport offers, seat assignments, pickup points, optional live transport check-in samples, distance calculations, and media uploaded through the service
  • technical and operational data such as app version, locale, permission state, signed upload metadata, object storage delivery metadata, diagnostics you share, and security or abuse-prevention logs

3. How location is used

Terranos does not require location for basic browsing.

If you enable location-based features, location can be used for:

  • distance calculations in discovery and activity detail
  • transport readiness and pickup coordination
  • optional live transport check-in

4. Why we process data

We process data to:

  • provide authentication, profiles, activity publishing, participation, messaging, transport coordination, equipment, accommodation, shared costs, and related logistics
  • improve reliability, security, moderation, and abuse prevention
  • operate location-based functions such as distance calculations, pickup readiness, and optional live check-in
  • personalize language and interface settings and operate version/access policies
  • support customer service, troubleshooting, and incident investigation

5. Sharing and processors

Terranos uses infrastructure and processor providers needed to run the service, including Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and APIs, Cloudflare for content delivery and object storage delivery, and mapping or weather providers when those features are used.

Terranos does not sell personal data.

Public profile details, activity participation state, and relevant logistics details may be visible to other users according to feature design, your visibility settings, and whether those users share the same activity, transport, or pickup context.

6. Retention

Account, profile, activity, and logistics data are kept while your account remains active and for a limited period after deletion when required for legal, security, moderation, or dispute-handling purposes.

Short-lived live transport check-in samples are retained only for operational windows and cleanup rules. Diagnostic exports are generated by user action and shared only by the user.

7. Your rights

You can access and update most profile, privacy, visibility, and participation-related data directly in the app.

You can request access, correction, deletion, account deactivation, or account erasure support at:

8. Policy updates

We may update this policy when features or legal requirements change. The latest version is always available in the app and on the public Terranos docs site.
